Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer at a affordable price, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb, with the robot being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that the robot is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has done, where it is going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that displays the need for maintenance like emptying the debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. It's not like the model from last year, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its direction and clean them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I've found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40

The app is intuitive and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous features that make it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with numerous extra features that distinguish it from. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirty spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is beneficial as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a great method to keep your home hygienic for longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a variety of preferences. They can be set through the app or direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, instead of relying on a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and elegant. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing, but it's still not excessively heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
