Robot vacuums should include mapping capabilities. This allows them to navigate your home and avoid hitting things like walls. They can be tripped up by pet toys, cords or furniture without mapping. Maintenance

A robot vacuum can be a huge aid in keeping up with your home. While no robot is able to replace an upright or canister vacuum for deep cleaning, the top models that are rated highly pick up pet hair, lint and other dirt that accumulates on hard floors and low-pile carpets and pick up more than you would find using a broom. It's also an excellent idea to clean the charging contacts and sensors on the dock or robot occasionally with a soft cloth.
